This is a high-impact role where you will work directly with architectural designers and project managers to bring new buildings, major additions, and complex renovations to life. Key Responsibilities Design & Analysis: Perform structural calculations and analysis for various building components to ensure safety, stability, and load-bearing integrity. Collaborative Planning: Work alongside architects to integrate structural requirements into aesthetic and functional building designs. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all plans adhere to national and local building codes (IBC/Indiana Building Codes) and safety regulations. Field Coordination: Conduct site inspections and "boots on the ground" reviews to ensure construction aligns with design specifications. Material Evaluation: Recommend materials and construction techniques that maximize performance and durability. Project Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of analysis findings, risk assessments, and compliance verifications. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Licensure: Current Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred; or the verified ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of hire. Industry Experience: Minimum 1+ year of experience in the construction industry (Residential, Commercial, or Industrial). Technical Skills: Proficiency with CAD software and structural design analysis tools. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical elements clearly to clients, site superintendents, and non-engineers. Project Management: Strong ability to track multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while staying calm under pressure.
