Structural Engineer - Nuclear

Job Summary Seeking a Full‑time Structural Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of engineers and designers supporting plant modification packages, evaluations, and studies for the nuclear power industry. This is a hybrid opportunity: working Tuesday through Thursday in the office. Responsibilities Include design and modification of steel and concrete structures for the nuclear power industry. Prepare civil/structural calculations and evaluations in support of various design activities, including but not limited to the design of piping, cables and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts to concrete structures, equipment anchoring, and seismic response evaluations. Develop material and work‑hour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules. Exercise sound engineering judgment in assessing problem situations or complex issues; review completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design criteria. Interface with plant stakeholders to determine project scope/requirements, support construction/implementation and startup activities as required. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a four‑year accredited college or university. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (2 years nuclear) in structural design. Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant. Professional Engineering (PE) license in the United States. Experience with pipe stress software (AutoPIPE or equivalent). Experience with structural analysis software (STAAD or equivalent). Experience with traveling screens. Preferred Qualifications Duke Energy Nuclear experience. Master of Science degree in civil/structural engineering.
