Structural Engineer Industry Market (Peoria, IL) This position supports our Building Structural Discipline within the Industry Market, working on industrial, building, and facilities projects, as well as structural work across all Hanson markets. The role is based in Peoria, IL. A Day in the Life of a Structural Engineer at Hanson Here's a snapshot of what you would do in this role: Support the structural needs of industrial sites and integrate structural design with civil, rail, and mechanical disciplines Perform complex engineering calculations and utilize structural design software for analysis and design Conduct structural analysis, prepare specifications, details, and construction plans Assist with site investigations, field reconnaissance, modeling, construction document preparation, contractor pricing assistance, and project closeout documentation Mentor and assign duties to entry-level staff Prepare and review calculations, quantity takeoffs, and opinions of probable construction costs Other duties as assigned What We're Looking For We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role: Technical Skills Proficiency with Revit (required) Experience with AutoCAD (desirable) Experience with MicroStation (a plus) Proficiency with MS Office Suite (required) Experience with structural design software such as RISA (required) Soft Skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and stakeholders Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external clients Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and learn new skills Interest in a variety of assignments and continuous professional development Education & Experience 5-15 years of structural engineering experience (desirable) PE license (desirable) SE license or ability to obtain one (required) Master's degree in Structural Engineering (desirable) Working at Hanson Ability to collaborate remotely with colleagues across offices Willingness to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignments Willingness and ability to work overtime to meet project deadlines Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 Benefits Our focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including: Competitive compensation Performance bonuses 401(k) with matching contribution Employee Stock Ownership Plan Comprehensive health & well-being plans Financial wellness plans Work-life balance programs Culture We understand that selecting a job is about more than the day-to-day tasks.
