The firm’s goal is to be a valuable resource to every customer, exceeding his or her engineering needs on budget and ahead of schedule.Overview:Florida Engineering is currently seeking an Assistant Structural Engineer to join there growing team. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience working for an engineering design firm leading and assisting on both commercial and residential structural engineering projects. Responsibilities of this role will include:Liaising with the in-house team and the client to procure the necessary project information.Calculation of design loads based on project location, geometry, local and state code requirements, occupancy and risk category.Design and analysis of structural members, cladding, finishes and connections based on the calculated loads using rational code-based methods and finite element analysis.Drafting and detailing of engineering plans based on design and analysis.Creating engineering calculation reports and letters for submission to clients and building departments.Prepare layout plans, structural drawings, and specifications.Use DeltaCAD/AutoCAD and analysis/design software (SAP2000) to support design development.Perform basic structural analysis and support material efficiency improvements.Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering – Master’s degree is preferred1+ Year(s) of experience in a professional roleFE certification (passed) or actively planning to take the FE exam soonBasic understanding of steel structures and design principlesFamiliarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ASCE 7-22)Knowledge of wind load analysis and design approaches in accordance with ASCE 7-22Familiarity with DeltaCAD/AutoCAD and SAP2000Proficiency in MS Office applicationsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsEagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environmentCompany Benefits & PerksHealth insurance (50% covered - Medical, Full - Dental & Vision)401k w/ MatchLife insurance10 Days of PTO10 Paid HolidaysReimbursement for Engineering exams or certificationsIn-house team of over 25 Engineers and 8 PEs, where you can earn hours towards your PE LicenseFree Optional Gym MembershipWeekly Pay via Direct Deposit
