Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and draftsmen on various engineering and inspection projects.
  • Mentor, guide, and support the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Review, validate, and approve engineering designs, calculations, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee and execute forensic inspections of buildings and active construction oversight.
  • Review and approve design plans, reports, and project documents for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Beryl's clients and stakeholders, ensuring projects meet client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the project management team to ensure timely delivery and project success.
  • Engage with clients and external stakeholders, representing Beryls technical expertise and commitment.
  • Assist in business development initiatives, including project bidding, proposal preparation, and client meetings.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, ensuring Beryl remains at the forefront of engineering best practices.
  • Drive innovation and process improvement within the engineering department.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structure Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis on Buildings (not roads and bridges)
  • Masters Degree or further qualifications are advantageous such as Special Inspector, Threshold Endorsement.
  • Valid Professional Engineering (P.E.) license.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Strong technical proficiency and knowledge of engineering software tools.
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating engineering teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
