Summary:

  • Assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete precision and other structural and system components, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established procedures.

  • Perform functional tests and ensure the correct fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.

  • The company will provide appropriate training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions, including:

  • Work with blueprints, specifications, work orders, and changes to assemble and install parts and assemblies to meet quality requirements.

  • Complete required data transactions to facilitate assembly progression.

  • Set up and perform all manual and automated assembly operations, including portable machine functions as required.

  • Perform pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing, and checks during or after final assembly.

  • Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.

  • Use precision measuring instruments to accomplish work assignments.

  • Report and/or investigate job-related issues such as errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, or sequences.

  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily work duties (e.g., replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc.).

  • Move products within the immediate manufacturing area as required, using shop-assigned equipment. On an exception basis, move products to the next operation within the building.

  • Support continuous workflow within the manufacturing process by training, coaching, and assisting employees at all classification levels.

  • Document discrepancies according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

  • Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.

Specialized Functions:

  • Sealer: Apply sealants to parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies, including fillet and fay sealing, leveling compounds, or Scotchcast.

  • Pressure/Vacuum Test: Perform visual and auditory leak checks in aircraft sections.

  • Precision Bench Assembly: Assemble precision aircraft components such as landing gear and control linkages.

  • Sub-Assembly: Assemble parts into sub-assemblies using templates, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Assembly/Installation (Structures): Assemble structural parts, assemblies, and skins into larger assemblies.

  • Assembly/Installation (Doors): Pre-assemble, trim, fit, rig, seal, align, and adjust aircraft door systems.

  • Integral Fuel Cell: Apply sealing compounds to fuel cells and wing section components.

  • Inspection: Inspect and document non-conformances on final assemblies, subassemblies, systems, and installations. Verify dimensions using mechanical and electronic measurement tools and document corrective actions.

  • Fastening Equipment Operation: Set up and operate conventional and CNC fastening equipment (e.g., Multi-Task Gantry Riveters, Brotje machines, C-Frames, IPACs) to assemble components according to engineering specifications.

Required Skills:

  • Must be eligible for rehire at Boeing.

  • Candidates can verify eligibility by calling 866-473-2016 (24-48 hours for a callback).

  • MRO experience is required.

  • Candidates must be proficient in skin disassembly and reassembly on finished airplanes.

  • Must be able to work any shift.

  • Training will take place in Wichita or Renton (TBD).
