The Audio Visual Student Manager is in charge of creating and maintaining the schedule for the area. At the start of each semester they take information from the members of the area and create a schedule that is best for the team. Throughout the semester they must upload it to Teams and adjust it as needed on a weekly basis. The student manager must also assist the Audio Visual Supervisor in the hiring process for new technicians. This involves reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and discussing hiring. Following hiring the student manager assists with training new hires. Other various duties may include meeting and assisting the AV Supervisor throughout the semester. Time commitment: 8-10 hours/week Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM-7 PM Friday, 7:30 AM-5 PM with opportunities to work over breaks Supervisor: Esther Moore Location: Job Hall Pay Rate: $16.30-16.45/hr, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities Create and maintain the AV area schedule Assist with the hiring process for new AVTs Assist with training of new AVTs Meeting with Audio Visual Supervisor to overview area needs Work scheduled on-call hours with team members Required Qualifications Must be a current Audio Visual Technician (in IT) with at least two semesters of experience Ability to work independently Ability to be organized and possess strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications Obtained the Extron AV Associate certification About Us Ithaca College’s student employment program offers meaningful experiential learning opportunities that develop transferable skills sought by employers across various industries.
