About Ivory Innovations


Ivory Innovations is an applied academic institution at the University of Utahs David Eccles School of Business and a 5013 nonprofit dedicated to catalyzing innovation in housing affordability. Ivory Innovations promotes the most compelling ideas by convening industry experts, inspiring students to tackle housing issues, sourcing and supporting the best innovative housing entrepreneurs, and putting these innovations into practice. We are seeking a committed team player with an interest in housing affordability or social impact who can lead and support key team initiatives at Ivory Innovations.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities include :


  • Leading our Student Associate program: Working closely with undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Utah who work at Ivory Innovations each year
  • Managing student and team events: Organizing our annual housing hackathon (Hack-A-House), held in September of each year, and leading or supporting other events throughout the year. Events may be in-person, virtual, or in a different city in the US (typically one event per year)
  • Providing administrative and team support: Actively contributing to team culture in our office at the University of Utah and handling other administrative tasks as needed, such as reimbursements, catering needs, etc.


We anticipate this role will require approximately 15 hours per week (in person at the University of Utah) from August-May each year with additional flexibility / reduced hours (remote) from May-August over the summer.


This role would be a good fit for someone who:


  • Will contribute to and support our teams institutional memory by improving our programs year over year
  • Enjoys mentoring and managing students each school year from August-May
  • Is detail oriented and has strong project management skills
  • Would like to be part of a fun, highly motivated team working on important social issues


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelors degree in a clinical field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) plus 2 years related experience, demonstrated communications skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service required. Experience in management or coordination, training, quality assurance, team building, program development and evaluation preferred.


Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

  • Interest in housing affordability issues and innovative solutions
  • Experience relevant to managing a student program
  • Experience relevant to managing large projects and events
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including high attention to detail

  • Bachelors degree
  • Familiarity with Utah housing market and organizations
