Job Summary


The Student Assistant will support Georgia Southern Unviversity Athletics on the Statesboro Campus as a Student Content Creator beginning Fall 2024.

Working under the Director of Creative and Digital Strategy, this role will help execute the Georgia Southern Athletics digital strategy and enhance the university's brand through the creation of in-venue, recruiting, digital and social media content. The position reports in-person to the Statesboro Campus.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

  • Produce promotional content such as features, interviews, highlights, and hype videos showcasing Georgia Southern Athletics personnel
  • Edit and produce videos efficiently, employing creative storytelling techniques
  • Record, edit, and distribute weekly and postgame press conferences to local, regional and national media outlets
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments including Communications, GATA Productions, Marketing & Fan Experience, Ticketing, and Athletic Foundation
  • Organize and manage video footage by labeling and archiving files
  • Assist the Director of Creative and Digital Strategy in content planning and supervising student workers/interns

Shift Specifics

  • 15 - 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Requires work on weekends and holidays
  • May require travel

Required Qualifications


Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications


Preferred Experience

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects
  • Experience with EOS and DSLR cameras/video cameras, lighting and audio kits
  • Knowledge of photo/video production, including but not limited to shooting, non-linear editing, color correction and audio editing
  • Knowledge of college athletics content trends, knowledge of current social and digital media trends and specifications
  • Ability to interpret and utilize brand standards
  • Ability to manage/schedule multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Consistent use of strong interpersonal skills

Proposed Salary


$7.25 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
