Preferred Student Classification
Junior of Senior majoring in Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice and Criminology, Criminal Justice Leadership and Management, Homeland Security Studies, Political Science, Business Administration, Victim Services Management and/or Sociology with a GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Self-motivated student needed to assist professional staff in the Office of Title IX & Discrimination Resolution with reports, which will include transcribing, scanning, filing, and data entry. Position will also include assisting with prevention education and awareness initiatives, as well as perform other related office duties as assigned. The ideal applicant is friendly, shows initiative, can multi-task, works independently, and is able to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff and guests. Must maintain confidentiality of all records and databases associated with assigned area. Must be able to work flexible hours Monday Friday between 8AM 5PM.
Other Requirements for the Position
Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
- 60 college credits
- Strong proofreading skills
- Ability to transcribe video/audio recordings into written documentation
- Strong time management
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Work well independently and within a group
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills and tact to handle confidential situations and sensitive information
- Self-starter with an outstanding work ethic
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Possess basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Title IX and related legislation a plus
Physical Demands
- Ability to move across campus for meetings, events and presentations
- Ability to lift-up to 25 pounds and push/pull supplies as needed
