This position will work in the Facilities Unit performing duties that help the Department continue its evolution from a fully in-the-office staff to a more hybrid, work-from-home workforce. The student will assist Facilities staff in evaluating and addressing Department workspace and storage needs. Tasks and projects will focus on the process of identifying and surplusing and/or disposing of state property. The student will also be involved in discussions and meetings related to future Department space planning.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be a student in a college/university, trade or technical school, if a student is enrolled at credit-granting institution they must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any less credits (class) load shall be treated as a semester off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Education Verification Form prior to appointment.
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.

- Pursuing a degree in: Facilities Operations, Maintenance or Management; Project Management; or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse work groups by phone, email and in person.
- Ability to prioritize and track the progress of multiple projects.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently based on the given instructions.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience or training in facilities operations, maintenance or management.
- Experience in project management.
