Summary of Job Duties:
The Study Abroad HEI Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for advising students and managing faculty-led programs for College of Education and Health Professions and Bumpers College and promoting study abroad across campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising prospective COEHP & Bumpers College study abroad students and their families about program opportunities, application procedures, scholarships and financial aid, obtaining academic approval, etc.;
  • Managing approximately 10-15 faculty-led programs annually in close collaboration with Associate Deans for International Programs in Bumpers College and COEHP;
  • Leading pre-departure orientation session for UA faculty-led programs in conjunction with faculty leader;
  • Planning and leading pre-departure orientation sessions for UA students enrolling in non-UA administered programs;
  • Representing the Office of Study Abroad for campus recruitment fairs for prospective UA students and summer orientation programs for incoming UA students.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, management or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in program administration or a related area

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Proficiency in a foreign language
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Terra Dotta Software
  • Applicants who have studied abroad or traveled extensively

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Skilled in diplomacy
  • Skilled with versatility in software and familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Skilled with strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Skilled with strong presentation ability
