Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Sub Arc Welder - Night and Day Shift Availability Location: Beasley, TX, United States, 77417 Chart Industries in Beasley, TX is looking for experienced welders for our Header manufacturing line. This position requires the ability to work overtime and pass 2 weld tests - a 6G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe and a 2G weld test. Chart’s welders play a key role in the manufacturing process of producing Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. Sub Arc Welder Must be able to pass a Sub Arc Welding or SAW test. This role is responsible for performing Sub Arc Welding on the internal/external joints and end plates of a Header box. Night Shift - 4 Day Shift - 1 What Will You Do? Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques Ability to lay-out, burn holes, fit and weld nozzles Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness Performs a variety of tasks Promotes and supports safety and production Makes quality visual U.T. and x-ray welds Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to work inside and outside. Regular exposure to welding debris, heat, cold, dark and bright environments. REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WHILE IN THE SHOPS Safety Glasses Steel Toe Shoes Ear Plugs Gloves Hard Hats Face Shield (when needed/task specific) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking Standing Using hands Bending Lifting up to 50lbs Sitting Your Experience Should Be... 1-3 years related experience Skills Required (i.e. certifications, licenses, registrations, etc.): May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty REQUIREMENTS - MUST BE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING: Ability to read and interpret shop drawings Ability to operate overhead-crane Demonstrate a high-regard for safety by following all safety rules and procedures and leveraging Stop Work Authority when necessary Familiarity with welding machines and hand tools Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with quality an in an efficient manner Ability to work under general supervision Ability to work different shifts Ability to pass 6G Tig test on carbon steel 2” pipe preferred Ability and willingness to learn to operate basic cutting equipment Chart Industries, Inc. is a leading independent global manufacturer of highly engineered equipment servicing multiple applications in the Energy and Industrial Gas markets.
