DCS Corp is seeking a highly experienced Avionics Engineering Subject-Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership and expertise on advanced military aviation programs. This role requires deep, hands-on knowledge of avionics design, integration, and compliance within fixed- or rotary-wing platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of technical excellence, published work, and experience representing their field at professional conferences or technical forums.
Key Responsibilities-
Lead and advise on complex avionics system design and integration for military aircraft.

Provide expert-level guidance on system architecture, including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429/664, Ethernet (TSN/AFDX), and VPX architectures.

Oversee integration of Type-1 cryptography, SATCOM/RF subsystems, and open mission systems (OMS/UCI, FACE, SOSA).

Utilize E-CAD and MBSE tools (e.g., CAMEO/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Altium, OrCAD) to support system modeling and design documentation.

Collaborate with government and industry partners to align technical solutions with USAF and DoD standards.

Support compliance with avionics safety and certification standards (DO-254, DO-178C, MIL-STD-461).

U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance (mandatory).

20+ years of hands-on avionics design and integration experience in military aviation (fixed- or rotary-wing platforms).

Recognized subject-matter expertise-published work, technical presentations, or conference participation required.

Deep understanding of avionics communication standards, network architectures, and synchronization protocols.

Proven track record of leadership on high-level DoD or aerospace programs.

Experience with ABMS, CJADC2, or C4ISR airborne networking programs.

Knowledge of RCC 324/125-15, MIL-STD-461, and related compliance frameworks.

Certifications such as INCOSE CSEP/ESEP, DER, or USAF Test Pilot School academic credentials.

Experience integrating software-defined radios (SDR) or SDN architectures into legacy systems.

Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies and DevSecOps tools (Platform One, Rancher).

Education: High school diploma with 20+ years of direct avionics engineering experience accepted.
