The Engineering Intern will assist staff with projects, offer suggestions on existing methods, conduct research, write reports, and collect data.

This is a Full-Time on-site internship located in Sandpoint, ID.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00a.m - 3:30p.m

Key Tasks

  • Communicate with all levels of staff in formal and informal settings
  • Develop mechanical product designs and processes for medical devices
  • Basic experience with modeling/drafting software (SolidWorks) are preferred.
  • Conduct tests and document results
  • Conduct basic calculations and layouts.
  • Gain exposure to manufacturing and operations through new product development. May assist with manufacturing engineering troubleshooting efforts.
  • Product design
  • Work with CAD Technicians to create or modify design drawings.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Student currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree Program.
  • Technical Curiosity

Preferred skills:

  • Ability to perform work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with CAD software, preferably Solidworks
  • Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interact with manufacturing personnel and staff.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, with very strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
