Compensation: $5,200 ($50.00 per hour for 104 Hours) Mandatory Training: Teachers must attend paid virtual training (dates to be determined). Summary of Duties: To help students learn Literacy and Math content using curriculum provided by the school district. To help students develop literacy and math skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women who live in a global society. The summer camp will run from 8:30 – 12:30 with breakfast in the classroom and lunch provided from 12:30 – 12:45. Monitor students when exiting and entering bus transportation Monitor and supervise students during breakfast and lunch Assesses and evaluates students’ academic achievement on a weekly basis and promotes students as they accomplish their learning goals; keeps accurate records of student achievement; prepares reports of progress for students and parents Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes Performs other duties as assigned by the Summer School Coordinator The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district. Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree; Masters Preferred; Early Elementary Experience; Early Childhood Endorsement Preferred, Enthusiastic, Energetic, and Positive Professional Attitude Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Elementary or Secondary Teaching Certificate Communication Skills: Read, analyze, and interpret materials including assessment materials. Write with clarity. Effectively present or facilitate information and respond to questions from groups. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms. Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement differentiated lessons based on school expectations and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
