Join Silverado Contractors as a 2026 Summer Project Engineer and take your first step into the exciting world of construction engineering! This opportunity will allow you to work directly with seasoned professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing valuable hands-on experience in various project management aspects.

As a Summer Project Engineer, you will be an integral part of the project team, assisting with the execution of projects from inception to completion. You'll engage in essential activities such as project planning, estimating, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Interns will have the opportunity to work on live projects, contributing to the successful delivery of services while gaining practical skills in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in project planning and scheduling, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Support Project Managers in coordinating project activities, resources, and information.
  • Help to review drawings and specifications to prepare relevant submittals.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality, reporting on any potential issues.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with budget tracking and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in safety meetings and enforce safety compliance on-site.
  • Contribute to project documentation, including reports and presentations.

Requirements

Internship commitment 8-10 weeks.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Prior internship or co-op experience in construction or engineering is a plus, but not required.
