JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Day and Orientation: July 1&2, 2024 Program Dates : June 27, 2024 - August 2, 2024 Location : Yorktown High School Mode l: IN-PERSON RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and implement building-level testing procedures and protocols for state and division testing, and for school-level testing as applicable Attend all training meetings conducted by the Office of Assessment Conduct teacher and student information sessions concerning testing and remediation Conduct procedural training for all school test examiners and proctors Prepare notification letters/emails to parents and students regarding testing time and location Maintain accurate demographic and testing data in the online testing system, PearsonAccessnext Prepare all necessary orders for testing materials Create test sessions and schedules, secure testing locations Maintain security of testing materials while materials are in the building Count, distribute, collect, and package testing materials Consult with Special Education and EL teachers to ensure all students are tested appropriately and accommodations are administered as required Maintain records of students participating in Remediation Recovery, Summer School EOC class, and Virtual Virginia courses Code students tests for adjustments (SOA and Transfer), accommodations, and testing status Monitor test sessions and report irregularities as necessary Disseminate testing results to students and teachers and share next steps for students who did not earn the verified credit EXPERIENCE: Previous experience teaching summer school QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a testing coordinator Knowledge and experience with Summer School Knowledge and understanding of State and Federal testing accountability requirements Knowledge and understanding of HS graduation requirements Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY CONTACT INFORMATION: The Summer School Testing Coordinator position provides support for student achievement by serving as the point of contact between the DDOT (Division Director of Testing) and the school in ensuring that students and schools meet state and federal testing and accountability requirements. The Summer STC will be responsible for identifying, scheduling, and administering standardized tests to students in grades 9-12 enrolled in EOC courses who need a verified credit for graduation and/or term graduates not enrolled in Summer School who need to meet graduation requirements by August of that school year. The STC is also responsible for ensuring that all procedures required for the SOL tests by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) are implemented within the school and for maintaining the security of test materials. Retired APS teachers will be paid $47.73 per hour per APS pay plan. Non-APS licensed summer school teachers will be paid $35.52 per hour.
