Full job description
WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new SUMMER SEASONAL EMPLOYEE, responsible for working within several different divisions including but not limited to: Streets, Water and Sewer, Forestry, Fleet, and Facilities.
Some info about the position
- Perform physical labor relating to the maintenance and repair of Village utilities, infrastructure, and facilities.
- Assist in sign maintenance including sign preparation, production, installation and removal, and stripes parking lots.
- Assist with building and property maintenance on all Village owned properties including but not limited to cleaning, sprinkler repairs, painting, electrical, plumbing, and minor carpentry.
- Assist with sewer maintenance including but not limited to manhole installation and repair, sanitary and combined sewer flushing, catch basin installation, cleaning and repair and sewer televising.
- Assist with repairs on water line breaks, main and B-Box, maintains fire hydrants, valve exercising and repair.
- Assist with mechanical related issues including the picking up and stocking of parts.
Qualified candidates should
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to work at heights.
- Be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Enjoy working outdoors in changing and extreme weather conditions with exposure to noise vibrations, moving parts, and electrical equipment.
- Have a valid Drivers License, preferably a CDL.
Pay, benefits, and more
- Hiring rates will be determined based on qualifications and experience:
- $15.45 $22.47/hour (non-CDL)
- $22.67 - $29.47/hour (CDL)
- Paid leave
- Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours, as needed.
- Seasonal employment begins May 1st and ends September 27th. Dates are subject to change based on the needs of the Department.
- No guarantee of continued employment at the conclusion of seasonal employment term.
