Job Description
Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the plant QA Line Coordinator team to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards. This role focuses on overseeing quality activities on the production floor, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting customer and regulatory programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the QA Line Coordinator team on all 3 shifts.
- Ensure consistent execution of quality and food safety programs, including HACCP, SQF, GMPs, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee daily QA activities on production lines, including process monitoring and documentation review.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate internal audits and prepare the plant for third-party and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain accurate and organized QA documentation and records.
- Support customer programs related to product specifications, complaint resolution, and quality audits.
- Partner with Operations and other departments to drive continuous improvement in product quality and compliance.
- Communicate quality objectives and compliance strategies to plant personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Education and Experience Required:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in food science, Dairy Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Prior QA experience in food manufacturing environment required, dairy or regulated food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence decision-making.
- Ability to work flexible hours across all shifts to support QA Line team and production needs.
Confidentiality: The QA Supervisor is exposed to customer and product information on a consistent basis.
Management Responsibility: Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems of the quality team.
Work Environment: Regular presence on the production floor with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and slippery surfaces requiring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and appropriate PPE. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Use of standard office equipment and computer systems required.
Pay: $65K-$85K a year*
