Full job description

The Fitness Center Supervisor assists with the leadership and management of the Fitness Clubs health and fitness programming which includes personal training, group training, specialized fitness programming, member retention and new member integration. Responsible for impacting member service and retention through quality, safe and contemporary programming that supports members efforts to reach their fitness goals. Assists club manager with achieving financial performance results. Oversees daily staffing and operations of fitness areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in exercise physiology, kinesiology or a related field.
  • Masters degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • CPR/AED and fitness/personal training certification required.
  • Three years prior experience in a fitness/health center, including some level of administrative and supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates and leads a positive team-centered work environment by conducting rounds, face to face communication and leading team-building events.
  • Supervises staff directly by circulating throughout the fitness club frequently and on all shifts.
  • Monitors the quality of the individualized program development of the fitness team; create exciting and effective exercise programs that incorporate the latest in health and fitness trends. Ensures the fitness team keeps current in their fields and are well trained and knowledgeable about their jobs, our services, promotions and business practices.
  • Ensures excellent customer service by instilling a culture of accountability, leading by example and listening to members and guests, understanding their needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Manages daily operations of the fitness floor including staffing, scheduling, policies, procedures and problem resolution.
  • Manages the fitness programming, including new member orientation processes and small group training schedule.
  • Oversees personal training program to ensure profitability and quality of services.
  • Conducts a minimum of 5 personal training sessions per week (2 PT sessions and 2 - 3 group exercise classes).
  • Monitors, evaluates and continuously improves operations, programming and financial performance by interacting with members and staff, listening to feedback and ideas and working with manager to analyze key metrics and data.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Schedule:

Full-Time

Pay Range:

Hourly/Non-Exempt

$20.00 - $30.00; based on work experience
