JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisor of Athletics and Activities

The Supervisor of Athletics and Activities reports to the Director of Athletics and Communication.

Position Overview:
The Supervisor of Athletics and Activities will play a vital role in enhancing and managing the extracurricular programs within the district. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization, coordination, and supervision of athletic and extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports management, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to promoting student engagement and achievement through extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of athletic and extracurricular activities within the district.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coaches, club advisors, and other activity supervisors, ensuring that all programs are conducted in a safe, inclusive, and effective manner.
  • Assist in the development and management of budgets for athletics and activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to district policies.
  • Ensure all athletic and activity programs comply with district, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols and eligibility requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including transportation, facilities, and equipment, ensuring seamless execution of competitions and activities.
  • Lead and grow our clubs and activities programs.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, staff, and the community regarding program offerings, schedules, and any changes or updates.
  • Promote student participation in athletics and activities, fostering a positive environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings and opportunities for students.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in sports management and extracurricular activities, seeking continuous improvement for programs and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or a related area.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Substantial knowledge of the workings of an athletics and activities department at the high school and middle school level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expected to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of district, state, and federal regulations related to athletics and extracurricular activities.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all programs.
