Job Summary The Supervisor-Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Relief possesses advanced skills in assessment and appropriate application of respiratory care services. Is responsible for the coordination of respiratory care services on their shift including appropriate staffing and workload development. Resolves technical problems and ensures equipment availability. Ensures documentation of treatment and diagnostic information is recorded in the medical record. Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment, problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Able to respond and participate in emergency patient care and coordinate the Respiratory Care staff and their role. Maintains a recognized area of clinical expertise in both adult and infant care, and uses it in practice, teaching, and consultation. Serves as a role model and provides a positive influence to initiate and facilitate change. Contributes meaningful information and insight to periodic staff performance evaluations, and participates as necessary in staff counseling and conflict resolution. Performs other duties as needed. Sign-on bonus: This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $9,000. Education and Experience An Associate Degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Two (2) years of clinical experience required. One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills Advanced understanding of assembly and troubleshooting skills for patient/machine equipment; draw blood; assess (patient or examination); perform preventative maintenance; calibrate equipment. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spani preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately read medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch. Licensures and Certifications Respiratory Care Practitioner License from the State of California is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) certification and maintaining a current age-specific Advanced Life Support Provider certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through an American Heart Association (AHA) provider training program are required. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) is required. Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support (STABLE) Program certification required, or must be obtained by the sixth month of hire. #J-18808-Ljbffr
