Job Description Mission: Space Delta 12 leads the integrated test and evaluation of USSF capabilities in order to rapidly field combat-credible weapon systems and tactics. Purpose of Position To serve as a first level supervisor, directing major projects and studies related to methods and systems that impact Space Force-wide weapon systems testing. Duties Directs multiple study teams involved with advanced technical projects involving unique analytical science, engineering, and research proposals and studies that recommend alternative courses of action to Space Force (SF) officials from multiple commands. Plans, organizes, and directs the various administrative projects on behalf of the Commander; ensuring that work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Reviews and evaluates team projects, proposals, and/or reports for adequacy of methodology, including the use or development of computerized models, ensuring the techniques used are valid and appropriate to the problem or issue identified. Serves as a consultant and Space Force level technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad program operations. Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies, and support system concepts. Knowledge and Skills For The Position Professional knowledge of a broad range of statistical and/or operational research disciplines, concepts, principles, and practices. Prior professional experience in Operations Research is highly desirable. Expert knowledge of a broad range of operational test and evaluation (OT&E) disciplines, concepts, principles, and practices. Mastery of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions. Skill to lead and participate in study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints. Requirements For The Position U.S. citizenship Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, participation in random drug testing. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position. Must exhibit a high degree of judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and the ability to foresee the impact of changing technology. May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis. Degree in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. PCS Funding/Relocation/Recruitment Incentives Yes, PCS funds may be paid.
