Job Description:
The Supplier Development Quality Engineer will be responsible for activities related to supplier selection, evaluation, material qualification, supplier performance, and receiving inspection. This role contributes to the development, establishment, and maintenance of supplier quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices that align with regulatory requirements and SJM standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier communications, process validation, and CAPA investigations within the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review supplier specifications and communicate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform supplier process validation and conduct incoming inspection of new materials.
  • Lead CAPA investigations and improvements.
  • Support the qualification of new materials from suppliers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and R&D teams to ensure supplier materials meet required specifications.
  • Establish and maintain supplier quality engineering methodologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, particularly in managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience with process validation and material qualification.
  • Knowledge of CAPA processes and investigation techniques.
  • Experience in the medical device industry or a solid understanding of medical device standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage supplier communications effectively.
