Supplier Engineer – Supplier Engineering In this Supplier Engineering role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing assigned suppliers. The candidate will interface with suppliers, internal AMAT stakeholders, and at times, end user customers as part of a larger problem‑solving team. The Supplier Engineer will help remediate product or process failures that impact our internal manufacturing locations or end user customers. The successful candidate should have a good understanding or working knowledge of gas/liquid delivery systems and a variety of OEM components such as MFC’s, valves, and regulators. Prior knowledge on gas line/weldment manufacturing and various sealing components, e.g., O‑rings and C‑seals, is preferred. This position reports directly to the Chemical Delivery Supplier Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities Leads the supplier technical audit process, evaluates supplier performance and capabilities, and drives continuous improvement opportunities at the supplier sites.
Leads quality problem resolutions and incident management, and drives root cause and correction action.
Identifies and drives broad‑based systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
Utilizes enterprise‑wide software to adjudicate and document quality issues, specifically, Containment, Root Cause, Corrective Action, and Corrective Action Verification.
Desired Skills Intermediate to advanced knowledge of gas delivery systems and OEM components.
Experience with how Quality Management Systems work, including internal and external auditing, quality and risk management tools, including FMEA and basic statistical methods.
Solid understanding of good manufacturing practices and lean principles.
Experience with cleanroom manufacturing protocol.
A minimum of 5 years experience in supporting the manufacturing of Semiconductor Capital Equipment.
Strong interpersonal skills and team‑oriented behavior.
Effective verbal and written communication style.
Education Requirements Bachelor’s or higher degree in an Engineering discipline.
Travel Requirements Up to 30% travel.
