Supplier Quality Development (Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager)In this role you will be responsible for driving best‑practice quality strategies, processes, and standards to enhance operational performance in alignment with Festo’s quality systems. It involves working across diverse manufacturing technologies and managing supplier evaluation, development, and qualification. The position leads APQP activities, including feasibility studies, FMEA reviews, capability analysis, and inspection planning. Additionally, the role supports new product introductions by ensuring supplier capability and readiness to meet required quality expectations.Your job:Development and establishment of robust processes at suppliers to sustainably improve supplier competitiveness and by that the competitiveness of Festo by doing system/process reviews/audits, workshops and projects for both series parts and novelties.Support of the global/regional/local Purchasing, the Purchasing BUs, the Engineering Centres (TEC) and the plants (GPC, RSC) in terms of supplier development and the quality of externally purchased parts to achieve an optimal QCD performance.Support of supply chain to safeguarding parts supply plus the responsibility to reduce bad parts from/at suppliers.Report to Purchasing Head on supplier development strategy, processes, quality improvement programs on a weekly basis.Coordinate with suppliers for target setting on yearly basis and review of target achievements on a monthly / quarterly basis Audit vendors / suppliers on purchase components on periodical basis for sustained Quality performance and in compliance to the standards defined by Global Purchasing.Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the QMS.Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunitiesLead supplier development strategy, designing the metrics for the function and supplier performanceReview and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chainConsistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of themDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performanceOur Requirements:Experience & Education: 8–15 years of experience with a Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.Manufacturing Expertise: Strong knowledge of HPDC, machining, injection moulding, investment casting, rubber parts, standard parts, and electro‑mechanical components.Quality & Audit Skills: Proven lead auditor experience in Quality and Environmental audits, with solid understanding of quality processes and statistical tools.Advanced Quality Tools: Proficient in APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, FPY, PPAP, and Six Sigma methodologies.Metrology Competence: Strong knowledge in metrology and application of measurement systems and analysis.IT & Software Skills: Hands-on experience with SAP-QM, and proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.Location: HosurJob Type: On rollDesignations: Senior Engineer/Assistant Manager
