Job Title: Surge Support: Security Architect AI - Generalist Location(s): Pittsburgh, PA Job Description The Security Architect – AI is responsible for designing and implementing security controls for AI and machine learning systems throughout their full lifecycle, including data collection, model training, deployment, and ongoing operations. This role creates secure architecture for AI solutions, defines governance and risk management frameworks, and establishes secure‑by‑design standards for large language models (LLMs), generative AI tools, model pipelines, and agent‑based systems. Responsibilities Conduct AI threat modeling across ML and LLM systems. Establish and maintain AI model governance frameworks. Ensure data protection across training, fine‑tuning, and inference workflows. Secure MLOps and LLMOps pipelines end‑to‑end. Implement AI guardrails, monitoring, and abuse detection controls. Lead AI red‑teaming and adversarial testing exercises. Integrate AI telemetry and logs into Security Operations (SOC/SIEM). Ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic security guidance to engineering and executive leadership. Develop secure AI architecture patterns, standards, and policies. Evaluate and risk‑assess third‑party AI vendors and services. Experience Deep expertise in security architecture across enterprise and cloud environments. Strong hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Advanced knowledge of data security, encryption, and data protection strategies. Experience securing AI/ML systems across the model lifecycle. Understanding of AI/ML threat landscape, including: Prompt injection Data poisoning Model extraction Adversarial attacks Ability to design and implement defenses against AI‑specific threats. Strong cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder communication skills. Experience leading security initiatives across engineering, data, and product teams. Familiarity with AI risk, governance, and compliance frameworks, including: FedRAMP NIST 800‑53 NIST 800‑37 NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) FIPS 199/200 MITRE ATLAS Ability to align AI systems with regulatory, compliance, and governance controls.
