Job Description
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A skilled and certified Surgical Technologist is sought to provide crucial support within the operating room during moderate to high acuity surgical cases. Operating under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, this role involves preparing the operative suite, maintaining sterile fields, anticipating surgeon needs, and assisting during procedures. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge of surgical equipment, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to patient safety and procedure efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the OR and surgical field in accordance with sterile technique and safety standards.
- Set up instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures using preference cards.
- Scrub, gown, and glove self and surgical team members.
- Assist the surgeon by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs.
- Perform surgical counts and participate in safety time-outs.
- Maintain organization of surgical instruments and operative fields during cases.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, and ordering of supplies in perioperative areas.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and promote compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide culturally aware, patient-centered care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Mentor and train new staff or students as needed.
- Assist with cleaning and preparing OR rooms between cases.
- Handle multiple priorities while maintaining composure in high-stress situations.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED plus completed accredited surgical technology program.
- National certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or equivalent).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and emergencies.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Word and Excel.
- Minimum surgical technology experience supporting moderate to complex cases is preferred.

Schedule:
