Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A key role in the Operating Room involves supporting surgical teams by managing sterile environments, equipment, and instruments to ensure safe and efficient procedures. This position demands a thorough understanding of surgical protocols and a proactive approach to anticipating surgeons needs to maintain smooth operation flow.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures and solve related challenges during operations.
  • Verify items on physician preference cards and ensure accurate billing for supplies used.
  • Assemble, maintain, and properly use surgical equipment, disposables, and instruments.
  • Confirm all equipment and supplies are prepared and functioning correctly prior to procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout surgical cases, recognizing and addressing any breaks in technique.
  • Set up the sterile field promptly and keep an accurate count of medications, sponges, sharps, and instruments according to policy.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist or in a related role within an OR setting.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and sterile field maintenance.
  • Ability to anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills for teamwork and coordination in high-pressure environments.
