Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Scrub Tech, also referred to as Surgical Technologist, in support of the Lawton Indian Hospital (LIH) OR/Surgery team. The Scrub Tech will assist the surgeons in the operating room. Primary duties will be providing sterile equipment to the surgeon. Other tasks will include helping prepare the patient for surgery, transferring the patient to the operating table, sterilizing equipment to be used in the surgery, maintain cleanliness of the operating room, and to help the surgical team scrub in before entering the OR.

Responsibilities

  • Clean the OR before and after each procedure
  • Set out necessary instruments
  • Ensure instruments are sterilized
  • Position the patient on the operating table
  • Arrange sterile drapes ensuring the surgical field is exposed
  • Assist the surgical tam scrubbing in to include putting on their gloves and gowns
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and dressings as needed
  • Retract tissue, apply suction, and assist with suturing
  • Clean reusable instruments prior to sterilization
  • Restock the supply room with supplies
  • Correctly identify the patient
  • Prepare the surgical field via shaving and cleaning
  • Keep records during the procedure
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and request repairs when needed
  • Assist in moving patients in case of fire, disaster or emergency evacuations
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Available for the following schedule: Full-time position, standard working hours 8:00am to 5:00pm with 60 minute unpaid lunch. 40-hour work week. This role works weekends, weekdays, and holidays as needed. On call for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a certificate from an accredited training program in Sterile Processing and Distribution.
  • Certification from a National Commissions of Health Certifying Agency preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech within the past 3 years.
  • Required certifications: CPR/BLS
  • CBSPD-preferred but not required
  • IAHCSMM-preferred but not required
  • Degree – diploma or higher

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have good communication and people skills.
  • Have good work ethic, being punctual and working the days scheduled to work.
