Job Summary:

The Surgical Services - OR Tech / Surgical Tech is responsible for providing skilled technical support in the operating room to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the OR, assisting surgeons during operations, managing surgical instruments, and maintaining sterile environments. The position requires collaboration with the surgical team and adherence to hospital protocols, with a focus on specialties such as Orthopedics, General, Neuro, Thoracic, Vascular, GYN, Urology, Robotics, and ENT. A minimum of 2 years of experience and current BLS certification are required.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and available.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control standards throughout surgical procedures.
  • Set up and operate specialized surgical equipment, including robotics systems like daVinci and Mako, when applicable.
  • Manage surgical instruments and supplies inventory, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient safety and surgical efficiency.
  • Document surgical activities and patient care accurately in EPIC charting system.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required to support emergency surgical cases.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Valid Washington State surgical technologist license.
  • Experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Neuro, Thoracic, Vascular, GYN, Urology, Robotics, or ENT preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with robotic surgical systems such as daVinci and Mako.
  • Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Additional certifications or training in specialized surgical areas.
Special Considerations:
  • On-call requirement of 4 days per month.
  • Travel contract eligibility restricted to candidates residing more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission.
  • Work environment includes short-term acute care hospital setting with a focus on multiple surgical specialties.
Scheduling:
  • Monday through Friday, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift.
  • Shift hours: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
