St. Charles is renowned for its outstanding customer service and scored as one of the top hospitals on Long Island in the delivery of high quality care.Job DetailsOur Surgical Technologists will:Work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the intraoperative period.Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.Have knowledge of the procedures performed and anticipate the surgeon's needs, including providing instruments, sutures and supplies.Check that instrumentation and equipment are in working order.Maintain aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention.Maintain and advocate for patient safety.Perform other tasks as assigned (checking outdates, stocking, rooms, picking cases, etc.).Perform counts according to hospital policy and initiate appropriate procedure for incorrect counts.Correctly handle and identify surgical specimens.Safely dispose of biohazardous material.Actively participate in room turnover between cases.QualificationsWhat you'll bring:Passion for Perioperative Services1-2+ Years of Operating Room (OR) experience preferredEducation: High School Diploma or GED requiredCertification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the Association of Surgical Technologists required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Posted Salary RangeUSD $37.00 - USD $44.27 /Hr.This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.At Catholic Health, we believe in a people-first approach.
