Job Title: Surgical Tech-OR

Location: Rochester, Michigan

Schedule: 36 hours/Week

Shift: 07:00 – 19:30

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Pay Range for Traveler: $1,600.00- $1,700.00 Weekly DOE

Pay Range for Local: $35-$42/Hourly on W2

Job Summary

• Work under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team
• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and assigned procedures
• Provide patient preparation, transport, and support services
• Respond to emergent situations per established protocols

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Scrub on general surgical procedures
• Prepare OR with instruments, tables, and supplies
• Ensure proper function of instruments and equipment
• Maintain sterile field and follow infection control standards
• Practice cost-conscious use of supplies
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized OR environment
• Deliver supplies to units and ancillary departments
• Provide comfort and privacy for pre-operative patients
• Maintain patient and departmental confidentiality
• Assist RN with admitting, transferring, and discharging OR patients
• Adjust par levels for efficient supply management
• Participate in education, audits, task forces, and governance activities
• Precept/train new Surgical Technologists as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience:
• Minimum 1–2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
• Must have experience with ortho joints and/or robotic procedures
• Certification:
• CST certification not required
• Current BLS required (or obtain within 1 month of start)
• Education:
• High school diploma or GED required
