Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConducts engineering activities of advanced scope or degree of difficulty. This could include medium – large components/system, processes associated with a medium or large project.Performs assignments independently with limited supervision as to expected results.Performs assignments independently troubleshooting tasks as related to product problems.Oversees design testing.Prepares documentation associated with engineering activities.CAD and design work as necessaryConducts testing for assigned projects.Determines resolution of advanced/complex technical issues as needed and assures that technical work meets specified requirements.Contributes to corrective action development and alternatives.Supports CAPA, NCR & PMRA activities and prepares documentation in support of them.Understands and follows requirements of SOPs.Coaches and develops entry level engineers by sharing knowledge and best practices.Minimum Qualifications, Education, and ExperienceEngineering Bachelors degree from a 4 year accredited university programMin 5-8 years of experience similar role in medical device industryAdvanced verbal and written communication skills Spanish/EnglishApplies extensive technical expertise in the engineering field and has full knowledge of other related disciplines (GPM, GQR, Manufacturing, Sales)Familiar with common engineering tools and processes such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis (GD&T), tolerance stack-up analysis, and simulations utilizing Finite Element Analysis software tools such as ANSYS FEA or SolidWorks Simulation. Knowledge of data analysis techniques using Minitab, Excel, and MATLAB.Knowledge of medical device manufacturing practicesIntermediate to advanced problem solving and analytical ability.Self-starter who can work independently to achieve project goals.Ability and proven track record in leading engineers directly or as a part of a project team.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, inside and outside the unit.Ability to work with integrity and build trust.Ability to manage their own workload to achieve tasks assigned by management or more senior engineers.Ability to identify technical risks and communicate the issue to project/engineering manager.
