System Architect Apply
Do you want to play a leading role in defining the architecture of next-generation laser separation systems? We are looking for a System Architect to join our Product Development Center in Beuningen, The Netherlands.In this position, you will establish the core technologies and system specifications that shape our laser dicing and grooving machines. You will translate market requirements into technical roadmaps, safeguard system integrity, and guide multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept and design to production and maintenance.As a recognized technical leader, you will work closely with colleagues in mechatronics, optics, laser development, and software, while also collaborating directly with suppliers and international partners. Your vision and helicopter view will ensure that system performance, manufacturability, throughput, and costs are optimized to meet both current and future industry demands.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate market requirements and technical roadmaps into system specifications, system design, and module-level requirementsTake ownership of consolidated system roadmaps and synchronize them with component and product roadmapsManage and optimize system-level performance with focus on quality, manufacturability, throughput, and costCreate trajectories supporting stepwise fulfilment of system/module level performance trajectoriesDemonstrate technical leadership and innovation through experiments and product development initiativesCommunicate clearly with stakeholders by preparing high-quality reports and presentationsTHIS IS YOUAcademic degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field10+ years of experience in high-tech machine development, preferably in the semiconductor industrySolid understanding of the full lifecycle of system design, from concept to long-term maintenanceStrong knowledge of mechatronics system engineering, motion control, actuators, sensing technologies, and drive technologyHands-on knowledge of software development (preferably MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools)General knowledge of lasers, optics, and system/safety certification standardsExcellent communication skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and external partnersA lateral thinker with a helicopter view, capable of balancing conflicting business requirements and short-term project prioritiesFluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantageOccasional travel to customers.
