A public sector client is seeking a System Software Programmer – Advanced to support the Application Development team within the Office of Technology. This role is critical to the migration of applications and data from a former agency infrastructure to new systems and will help maintain and enhance applications supporting water quality operations.

· Support migration of applications and data to new enterprise systems
· Develop, modify, and maintain mission-critical applications supporting water quality programs
· Build, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries and stored procedures
· Support application dependencies such as invoicing and file management systems
· Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure system stability and performance
· Provide technical support and ongoing maintenance for production systems
· Participate in documentation, issue resolution, and enhancement planning
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
(Relevant experience may substitute year-for-year in place of degree)
· 8+ years of experience with government IT projects as a software developer/engineer or related role
· 8+ years of experience building and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures
· 3+ years of experience supporting Water Quality/Safety Information Systems (preferably in government)
· Working knowledge of ASP.NET, .NET, C#, HTML, and CSS
· Experience implementing/configuring/supporting systems such as SDWIS, WQX, SWIFT, DW–SFTIES
· Experience with Apache Tomcat and Java
· Experience working/collaborating with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
· Experience using service/help desk ticketing platforms and Microsoft Office tools
· Candidate must reside in a state aligned with Eastern or Central Time zones
