Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer Location: Remote Salary: $76,000-$119,000 We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer to support ongoing operations, modernization efforts, and performance management of enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing system software malfunctions across complex IT environments. The role involves managing updates, providing technical support, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and securely. The Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer will operate, troubleshoot, and repair system software malfunctions in real-time environments. They will also be responsible for performing regular system and security updates to ensure compliance with organizational policies: • Provide daily helpdesk support by identifying, escalating, resolving, and tracking technical issues • Conduct data analysis to inform troubleshooting and system performance improvements • Provide solutions to operating system problems including root cause analysis and resolution • Modernize capabilities by enhancing existing system features and incorporating new functionality • Assign, dispatch, and manage problems to the appropriate resources and track progress through resolution • Lead bug and issue resolution efforts across the system lifecycle • Develop and maintain a software modernization roadmap to manage key updates, end-of-support timelines, and sustainability risks to include lifecycle data for software and hardware to prevent obsolescence and support disruptions • Provide the government access to Contractor Development Operations (DevOps) tools to reference scheduling, defect tracking, and system management data • Perform system backups and restorations using AWS Backup and auditing services to ensure rapid recovery from failures • Tune system performance to meet operational and user requirements • Archive legacy data in accordance with retention policies using AWS storage services Required Skills and Qualifications • Must possess BA or BS degree and six years of experience as a Systems Administrator in complex IT environments • Must be a US citizen eligible for Department of Defense confidential clearance or higher • Strong understanding of system software troubleshooting and repair • Hands-on experience with AWS backup, audit, and storage services • Knowledge of DevOps tools and principles • Ability to manage and document technology and modernization roadmaps • Proficient in performance tuning and technical problem-solving • Experience with helpdesk support, issue escalation, and customer service principles • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience in AWS Cloud Desired Skills and Qualifications CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or similar certifications preferred.
