Job Description: Seeking a Linux administrator with some cloud experience to support this effort.
Responsibilities Include:
System Administration: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the customer's lab environments including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. Implement proactive measures to identify and address potential bottlenecks or performance degradation.
Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, and malware threats.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for Linux systems.
Patch Management: Manage the patching process for Linux servers, including scheduling, testing, and deploying software updates and security patches promptly. Ensure compliance with patch management policies and procedures.
Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts and tools using shell scripting (e.g., Bash), Python, or other scripting languages to streamline system administration tasks, automate repetitive processes, and improve operational efficiency.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including key stakeholders to support project initiatives and resolve technical issues.
Documentation: Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge-sharing and training purposes.
Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal users and teams regarding Linux-related issues. Diagnose problems and implement solutions promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Required Skills:
U.S. Citizenship
Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability and obtain a TS/SCI clearance
6+ years of directly relevant experience as a Linux System Administrator.
Proficiency in managing and maintaining Linux servers (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
Strong understanding of Linux file systems, permissions, and security.
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
Experience with network troubleshooting and security (firewalls, security groups, NACLs).
Desired Skills:
Experience with Terraform
Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and task management.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of U.S. Government IA policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and objectives.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cyber Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
