Job Description We are seeking a Systems Development Engineer to join our Fleet Automation Software Team (FAST) within the Hardware Engineering Services organization. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining services, systems and operational infrastructure that enable delivery of hardware and firmware to AWS data centers globally. You will collaborate with cross‑functional product vertical and firmware development teams to solve challenging technical problems and drive system designs that shape the future of our infrastructure. You will stand up operational infrastructure to manage services and systems at scale across multiple geographical regions. As a SysDev in FAST, you’ll have a front‑row seat to innovation in Hardware Engineering Services, contributing to the development and scaling of hardware and firmware deployment orchestration systems. Your work will enable the seamless delivery of low‑level software/firmware to meet the increasing demands of our customers. You will work directly with engineers across the company to launch next‑generation AWS platforms, have a direct impact on our bottom line, and influence the technical direction of a large organization to build and scale systems to operate for customers world‑wide. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience 1+ year of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands‑on systems engineering experience Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems) Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby Preferred Qualifications Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology Knowledge of server hardware and components Equal Opportunity Employment Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
