Amazon Web Services is seeking a top industry technical expert to grow our team dedicated to expanding our Controlled Working Environment (CWE) team to build, operate and maintain a Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) approved infrastructure. We are seeking Systems Development Engineers to build and support this working environment. You will help design architectural approaches and automate, enhance, and build new functionality for a complete separated end‑user workspaces environment. Our Systems Development Engineers spend time: Investigating new ways to improve operations. Defining and developing new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers. Investigating system variances that may affect customer applications before an actual outage occurs. Diving deep into new service announcements to determine unique ways to implement them to improve the effectiveness of the CWE. Managing user applications like JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Duo, etc. Studying and learning from industry recognized Amazon distinguished engineers. Due to federal contracts, this position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. Key job responsibilities Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby. Systems and Network Administration, or System Reliability Engineering. Systems engineering, network, and/or application security. Web protocols, Linux/Unix tools, architecture, and experience building automated tools in Python, Java and/or Ruby. Basic Qualifications 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience. 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands‑on systems engineering experience. Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems). Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java. Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.
