About Us: B&L Information Systems is a leading provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions for foundry and die casting industries since 1976. Headquarters in Bridgman, Ml. B&L provides a reliable cloud-based, industry-leading solution with a highly experienced team of business professionals. Job Summary: As a Systems Engineer at B&L, you will provide a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining B&L's Cloud infrastructure, the Odyssey ERP software, and B&L's Al initiatives. Your responsibilities include designing and producing monitoring tools, supporting applications, and other utilities to ensure the proper function of B&L's cloud -based environments. You will also be responsible for the configuration, operation, and administration of network and cloud server hardware, operating systems, and communications links. Additionally, you will be responsible for architecting and building additional tools necessary to support B&L's internal and external systems using modern application and database programming. Systems Engineers are expected to be on call during after-hours on a regular, rotating basis to support the B&L Cloud and core office infrastructure needs. This position will have routine contact with all levels of employees, B&L's customers, and vendor representatives. As a System Engineer, key responsibilities include the following: Assist in architecting internal and cloud network infrastructure Design, configure, monitor, and optimize internal and cloud network infrastructure for optimal performance, maximum availability, minimal maintenance, and reasonable costs Design and produce internal tools and utilities to help monitor and support the cloud environment and infrastructure Architect and maintain Cl/CD pipelines for deploying the Odyssey ERP Perform preventative maintenance on internal and external networks Manage and maintain internal and external databases; perform regular maintenance and performance assessments on these databases Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new hardware, software, and communications products for network compatibility and applicability Develop, maintain, and update a library of technical documentation Assists in training other B&L personnel to improve their technical skills Assist the technology team lead and departmental management with development of systems standards, short- and long-term goals, project management, and strategic directions Available to be on call during after-hours on a regular, rotating basis to support the B&L Cloud and respond to technical issues related to the B&L Cloud or core office infrastructure Required Skills and Experience 2+ years of related work experience, with a minimum of 2 years of experience managing networks. Associates degree in information technology. Demonstratable ability to write programs in Powershell or other scribing language. Demonstratable ability to write basic SQL queries. Desired Skill and Experience 2+ years managing and configuring Microsoft Office 365 environments. 2+ years managing and configuring Linez environments 2+ years managing and maintaining ERP or other database system 2+ years managing and maintaining SQL based database system Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field Compensation This is a profit sharing bonus eligible position Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum, mid point or maximum within the stated salary range. B&L provides full pay range so candidates can consider their growth potential. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
