Job Overview The BD Technology & Engineering Deployment team is responsible for providing technical system recommendations and requirements to BD’s customers, and working with customers to deploy servers and software. As a Systems Engineer, you will be assigned to customer projects and accounts based on regional and national structures, collaborating with project implementation teams to deliver on‑time, successful system implementations. In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, the team supports backend business functions such as equipment ordering, product development input, solution design best practices, and quality system requirements. About the role The Systems Engineer works closely with R&D for IDN level build and architectural design, and with product release preparedness. Attendance at remote and on‑site support missions and cross‑functional team participation are part of the role. This is an event‑engineering position that supports scheduled nighttime upgrades to customer sites, requiring willingness to work nights. Key responsibilities Assist Medical Management Systems with field action execution, including customer notifications, obtaining acknowledgment forms, and follow‑up questions. Install and support the deployment of BD servers and software in customer environments. Communicate technical requirements and recommendations to customers and project leadership. Demonstrate understanding of hospital information systems, system validation, active directory, databases, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Lead customer teams, share expertise, gain consensus, and deliver concise, consistent communication. Provide problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and system consultation related to BD products and best‑practice standardization. Comply with all Central Server & Software Deployment Policies and Procedures. Monitor and supply updates on escalated critical issues. Identify unnecessary workflow steps and recommend process improvements for increased efficiency. Provide feedback on technical documentation, new product validation, test plans, and solution designs. Education and experience Bachelor’s degree in healthcare information systems. Four or more years in a healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications. Working knowledge of multiple operating systems and software applications, including BD products. Experience managing medium or large projects. Preferred certifications or experience VMware, SQL/DB administration, MCSE/MCSA, networking, HIPAA, Active Directory, IT security, Azure, AWS, or related credentials. Physical and travel requirements Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs and perform pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting tasks. Maintain up‑to‑date immunizations and provide proof upon request. Valid driver’s license and adherence to BD auto safety requirements. Travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight travel, and flexible working hours covering nights and weekends. Ability to work independently from a home office.
