Systems Engineer III – Research InfrastructureBryan, Texas - On Site Full-timeWe are looking for a Systems Engineer III to support advanced research computing environments and technical infrastructure in Bryan, Texas. This role works closely with researchers, engineers, and IT teams to design, deploy, and maintain secure, high-performance computing, data, and networking environments that support complex research and testing activities.You will play a key role in supporting research labs, instrumentation systems, and secure computing platforms, helping enable innovative research across areas such as cybersecurity, instrumentation, data analytics, and modeling & simulation.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain research computing infrastructure including servers, networks, workstations, and lab systemsDeploy and manage Linux and Windows environments, virtualization, and scientific softwareCollaborate with research teams to design and implement computing solutions for new projectsAssist with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks including NIST 800-171 and export-controlled research environmentsIntegrate and support data acquisition systems, industrial control networks, and instrumentation platformsDevelop documentation and deliver training for research users on secure computing and data workflowsKey RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field~4+ years of experience supporting complex compute, network, or research IT environmentsExperience with Linux/Windows administration, scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell), and infrastructure troubleshootingAbility to work within secure and compliance-driven environmentsEligible to obtain U.S. Department of Defense security clearanceThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-impact research environment supporting advanced technology development and testing, collaborating with government, industry, and academic partners.If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges and working at the intersection of research, engineering, and secure computing, we would love to hear from you.
