Overview The System Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stable and secure operation of the Chumash Enterprises server and cloud infrastructure. This includes planning, analyzing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing all servers and workstation hardware, storage systems, and virtual systems. This role and its function are part of the Information Technology shared services model. A Team Member in a shared service structure works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise‑wide and typically have established Service Level Agreements. Responsibilities Provisions, configures, and maintains all server/cloud systems. Performs day‑to‑day administration of Microsoft Operating Systems and related services (e.g., AD, IIS, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy) and other operating systems (e.g., Linux, Unix, AIX). Configures or completes tasks to system specifications, technical, and logistical requirements. Provisions, configures, and supports the Organization Messaging infrastructure including maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office 365, and Outlook clients. Provisions, configures, and supports Virtualization technology including VMware. Plans, coordinates, and maintains Enterprise System Management Tools including Microsoft Windows Update Service and System Center Configuration Manager. Creates and monitors system stability and performance to ensure 24×7 operations and resolves service impacts as they occur. Develops and executes planned system maintenance to minimize impact on 24×7 services. Tests, implements, and manages procedures for data protection for enterprise storage, server, and applications. Manages and controls user accounts, permissions, and access to the network, systems, and applications. Provides tier 2 support and off‑hour support for technical support staff. Recommends, evaluates, and researches new technology and tools. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of all managed systems. Assists with establishing and maintaining technical standards, policies, and procedures in keeping with industry best practices. Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role‑modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED certificate. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience. Certifications in MCSE, MCITP or VCP preferred. Two years of systems experience. Good grasp of server operating systems and Microsoft Active Directory including knowledge of components such as AD, FSMO roles, site design, GC operation, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and WINS. Experience in virtualization strategies and technology. Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency. Native American hiring preference applies. Customer Focus: Knowing the (internal and external) customer business needs and acting accordingly; anticipating customer needs, and giving high priority to customer satisfaction and customer service. Technical Expertise and Usage: Acquiring and applying technical and functional knowledge in a technological area of specialty. Oral Communication: Shaping and expressing ideas and information in an effective manner. Written Communication: Expressing ideas and opinions clearly in properly structured, well‑organized, and grammatically correct reports or documents; utilizing language and terminology that is understandable for the reader.
