Role: Systems Integration EngineerLocation: Barrow-in-Furness – Hybrid (Relocation assistance can be provided)Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experienceIndustry: Defence, Marine Engineering, Naval ArchitectureExperienced Systems Integration Engineer needed in Barrow in Furness to work on cutting edge systems within the defence industry.This role presents an exciting opportunity for future progression for the successful candidate, developing to become the Platform Integration Lead for the Combat Systems Build, Integration and Test team in Barrow.What the role of the Systems Integration Engineer entails:Some of the main duties of the Systems Integration Engineer will include:Representing the Combat Systems team while collaborating with the platform teams in BarrowDesign and compilation of technical specifications to deliver capabilities in supporting the IV&V strategyCollaborating with the Combat System domains engineering teams to ensure their systems can be integrated into the platformPlanning the physical integration and test of systems containing electronic, mechanical and software sub-systems, understanding the potential impact on the whole boat and interfacing systemsTaking accountability for technical work packages and Combat Systems (CS) equipmentLeading Platform Integration meetings bringing together key stakeholders to understand technical and programmatic risks and developing action plans to resolve themSteering test systems development through implementation of best practice systems lifecycle processesProviding leadership, guidance and coaching to other engineersWhat experience you need to be the successful Systems Integration Engineer:Essential:Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)Knowledge of the system engineering lifecycle with the ability to apply good systems engineering practices to your workAbility to collaborate effectively with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving actions to completionDesirable:Awareness of Defence Standards and Industry standards whilst not essential would be an advantageExperience of submarine design or combat systems whilst not essential would be an advantageBenefits: Overtime, Private Healthcare,14% pension, 25 days holiday, free shares and more!This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer to progress their career.
