Systems Integration Engineer

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturing company, for a Systems Integration Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is a direct hire, full-time position offering excellent growth opportunities.
Position Overview
This engineering position offers an excellent entry point or advancement opportunity. The role involves exposure to various engineering tasks across all project phases, including field work. The successful candidate will work as part of the Test Equipment group and participate in diverse engineering projects while learning products, design concepts, company operations, and industry practices.
This is a heavy field work role requiring travel and variable hours according to business needs - it is not a desk job and it is not 9am-5pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve engineering issues in system integration and manufacturing aligned to project schedules
- Work with System Functions, Functional Interfaces, Electrical/Mechanical Interfaces, Asset Management, and Test Equipment
- Analyze and evaluate electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentation
- Plan solution paths and coordinate tasks with multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Generate and maintain asset management documents and official correspondence
- Track project progress and coordinate actions with suppliers and customers
- Participate in technical meetings, witness tests, and document meeting minutes with action items
- Support on-site testing activities, troubleshooting, and field modifications
- Provide engineering support to other departments across all project phases and manufacturing
- Coordinate technical activities with project management groups
- Lead technical discussions in design review meetings
- Provide elevated support for engineering headquarters by offering technical interpretations and faster response solutions
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering/science field
- Master's degree preferred
Experience:
- Entry level (1-3 years) to mid-level (5-10 years) engineering experience
- Transportation industry or closely related field experience required
- Experience in system design, systems integration, or project engineering a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification a plus
