Kelly Engineering is seeking a Systems Quality Engineer to join one of our leading clients in the Aviation/Aerospace/Materials manufacturing industry at their Havre de Grace, MD location.Please apply to learn more!Ideal Candidate:Bachelor’s level degree in an engineering field of disciplineMinimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing (preferred: aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives or composites industries)4-6 years’ experience with ISO 9001 and or AS9100 quality systemsExperience using six-sigma tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and chemical and/or mechanical testingEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Quality improvement initiatives: active participant in defect reduction endeavors as they relate to Supplier/ In-House defect origination as well as attributed to Process Capability deficienciesTechnical engineering discipline in a high-volume engineered materials (adhesives) manufacturing facilitySupports the Maintenance, improvements and sustainability of our AS9100 Quality Management SystemMonitoring product performance via the current Operational metrics: initiate corrective action programs to address unfavorable trendsHost External auditors and support for customer visits and meetingsParticipant in our internal audit programQuality liaison to Customer Support, Operations, Technical Services and Sales teamsSupport to Calibration and Receiving Inspection processes and teamsActively support Safety improvement initiativesCompetencies:Technical Problem Solving and Analysis, effective decision-making capabilityAbility to work w/in a team environmentEffective Communicator and strong interpersonal skillsProject ManagementMentoring/CoachingCustomer focusManaging multiple projects and prioritiesWorks well in a high degree of delegation environmentRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s level degree in an engineering field of disciplineMinimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing4-6 years’ experience with ISO 9001 and or AS9100 quality systemsExperience using six-sigma tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and chemical and/or mechanical testingPreferred Qualifications:BS Chemical Engineering or ChemistrySix Sigma GreenbeltCertification from ASQExperience in aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives or composites industriesExperience working in a unionized environmentCollege level algebra and statistics
