As a Systems Security Engineer III, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of our IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and developing and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with our IT security strategy and introduce them to the enterprise.The Systems Security Engineer is responsible for deploying, operating, documenting and maintaining secure IT systems. The SSEs primary focus will be the operations of a newly minted secure development environment as part of a large US Air Force program. The SSE closely collaborates with users, administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity controls are effectively implemented, measured, monitored and documented throughout the entire system lifecycle. The SSE is a vital contributor within SNCs highly dynamic and fast-paced environment.Must-haves:Bachelors degree in systems security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experienceRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of required educationExperience with boundary protection techniques and technologiesExperience in NIST 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) controlsAbility to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentAbility to lead and operate in small teams to accomplish mission needsPreferred:ISM CAP, CISSP, CISM or similar CertificationMCSE or Linux Security CertificationCurrent TS/SCI ClearanceExperience with VMWare ESXi or other hypervisor administration and deployment technologiesExperience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Windows Server virtualized administration and deploymentExperience with layer 2 / 3 networking technologies & next-generation firewallsExperience with Kubernetes, docker or other containerization technologiesExperience with orchestration, automation and infrastructure as codesAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
