This requires strong technical judgement and confidence to challenge assumptions where needed.Typical responsibilities include:Managing Design Verification Plans and verification requirementsProducing physical design compliance statements for system reviewsAssessing the impact of design changes on verification and certification activitiesReviewing subsystem documentation and datasheets to support compliance argumentsIdentifying evidence gaps and defining verification activities to address themLogging and tracking defects found during V&V activities and working with development teams to resolve themLeading technical progress meetings and milestone reviews with suppliersSupporting engineering lifecycle activities including design reviews such as PDR, DDR and CDRCoordinating work packages across internal teams and external partnersManaging schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned activitiesSupporting regulatory documentation such as CE marking and technical publicationsYou’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, mechanical, electrical and software specialists to ensure the overall product remains aligned with system requirements and programme commitments.What you’ll needWe’re looking for a senior engineer with strong experience in verification, certification or system validation of complex hardware products.You’ll ideally have:Experience applying systems engineering principles and practicesStrong understanding of verification and validation activitiesExperience developing or managing Design Verification Plans (DVP) or similar documentationKnowledge of requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component levelExperience with hardware system design, build or integrationFamiliarity with test procedures and gathering evidence for product certificationConfidence presenting technical information and influencing engineering decisionsExperience writing technical reports and working with configuration management toolsSecurity clearanceDue to the nature of the work, applicants must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship and will need to undergo BPSS security checks following offer.What you’ll getThis is a chance to play a key role in a highly advanced defence programme where verification and certification are critical to success.
